I read “Acid Dreams” which I recommend…anyway, one of the things that separated the left was the “tune in, drop out” of Leary and the antiwar movement who wanted to engage the establishment. That is still the problem today and it appears to me that in reality either side is not committed to their own message. That was the quandary of the Vietnam era. I was disgusted with protests, although I participated in them as while they helped end the war, it took five years (1973) from the beginning of real protests on the streets to end. You realize that the establishment does anything they want, they can be slowed down but they will kill or injure you for opposing them. Until we can stop them from beginning, we’ll always be chasing the “action…”
